Genetic Health-Guarantee

All of our puppies are sold with a health guarantee.

All puppies will have their tails docked and dew claws removed. Puppies have been routinely wormed with (Pyrantel Pamoate) every two weeks and have had their puppy shots (Canine Distempers, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, kennel cough, and Bordetella). Puppies will have a one year Genetic Health Guarantee (found below) that covers genetic birth defects until one year of age. Pups will have health papers by a licensed veterinarian (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection), AKC Registration Papers, Health Record, & Puppy Care Package consisting of a five pound bag of Purina Puppy Chow, rope toy, and baby blanket with the scent of litter. The blanket helps the puppy feel more secure and sleep better at night.

This puppy is guaranteed until one year of age against fatal and life altering congenital disease which adversely affects the health of the animal. This includes severe hip dysplasia, which hampers a dog’s movement and natural gait and requires surgery to correct, kidney, heart, pancreas, spine, and liver problems of a severe life threatening or altering nature. If the dog dies within this one-year time frame, the buyer will pay to have it autopsied to ascertain reason. If reason is congenital, the Seller will replace the puppy.

BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES Purchaser should arrange for a veterinarian examination of the pup within the first ten days after the date of physical transfer of the pup for a health checkup. Should the veterinarian determine this dog to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the Seller, this dog may, upon presentation of a written diagnosis from said veterinarian, be returned for a refund of purchase price not including shipping. (i.e. Distemper, Parvo etc.) with in ten days from the date of transfer, the Seller must be notified immediately and will provide instructions for refund or replacement.

Any veterinarian’s diagnosis shall be subject to confirmation by a veterinarian chosen and paid for by Seller. Should said veterinarian not concur with the diagnosis of Buyer’s veterinarian, the matter shall be presented to a third veterinarian (cost shared between Buyer and Seller) for final diagnosis.

Provide puppy with routine preventive care, such as, but not limited to:

Annual physical examinations by a licensed veterinarian.

Follow veterinarian guidelines for vaccinations and worming.

All items covered under this guarantee will be by replacement or refund of the purchase price only not including shipping.

Seller will not be responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Buyer is aware that owning a puppy means trips to the veterinarian and understands that he/she will be responsible for all payments.

As of the date of delivery, the puppy has received proper vaccinations and worming. The buyer has been informed of these and of future vaccinations and worming due.

This guarantee does not include Coccidia and Kennel Cough, which is common in puppies that are shipped and usually caused by bacteria. Kennel Cough is self-limiting and like the common cold, it must run its course. Full recovery is expected and Kennel Cough on its own is not life threatening.

A puppy showing any serious genetic or congenital defect will be replaced as follows:

The dog must show defect by one year of age.

The seller must be notified of the problem within two (2) business days of the licensed veterinarian’s determination.

Buyer must have two reports from two unassociated veterinarians stating the same problem.

Seller will provide a replacement puppy of equivalent value.

A puppy with a defect must be returned or euthanized with the prior permission of the seller to qualify for a replacement puppy or refund by seller.

Returned puppy must be returned to the seller in good condition, other than specified problem, at buyer’s expense.

Owner will then qualify for a replacement puppy or will be refunded the purchase price.

The buyer is responsible for transportation costs to and from the seller on the replacement puppy.

This guarantee applies to the original puppy ONLY and is non-transferable to a second puppy.
